TWO men have been arrested after a chase through York city centre.
North Yorkshire Police says two men have been arrested after an alleged theft at a department store in York city centre yesterday lunchtime (August 20).
The incident took place at Fenwick's on Thursday (August 20) at around 12.30pm, when security staff reported the theft of a large quantity of high-value fragrances.

"CCTV cameras had been monitoring a vehicle believed to be linked to two suspects who were reported to have stolen an entire shelf of items.
Officers arrived at the scene and located the suspects' vehicle as it left the area. Following a short pursuit, the occupants abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot," said a spokesperson for the force.
The men - a 36-year-old man and a 19-year-old man - were then stopped by officers and arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, police say.
The 36-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving, dangerous driving, and failing to stop for police.
Both men have been released on conditional bail whilst enquiries remain ongoing.
