A man is wanted by police after allegedly tricking a woman into handing over £500 at a cashpoint.
The incident took place in July on Parliament Street in York, outside the Halifax bank.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said a man approached a woman who was using the ATM and told her the machine was not working and had failed to dispense his money.
They said: "While distracted he has pressed the button requesting £500 without her knowledge.
"When the money has come out he has then been able to convince the female that the cash that came out must have been his after his failed transaction and he has been handed the money.
"This deception has only been noticed at a later date when the victim has realised £500 has gone out of her account."
Police are appealing for information to identify the man pictured in the CCTV image.
