The works are expected to be completed within three days, but the order can remain valid for up to 18 months if necessary.
Traffic affected by the closure will be diverted via Millington Lane, Fishpond Hill, Kilnwick Percy Hill, Cattle Hill, Coldwold, Cobdale Lane, Cobdale, Pasture Lane, Millington Pastures, Wood Gate, Swineridge Lane, Church Lane, Martin Lane, and Main Street, covering Huggate, Nunburnholme, Warter, Millington, and Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be clearly signposted during the closure.

While the road will be closed to all through traffic, access will still be granted for residents, emergency vehicles, and pedestrians.
