With EasyJet cancelling all flights from Leeds Bradford Airport from January 2027, advice has been issued to travellers whose plans have been disrupted.
Passengers are advised to contact their airline immediately to arrange a refund or rebooking, and to familiarise themselves with their rights, which may include meals or accommodation.
Travellers should keep receipts for extra costs and check whether their travel insurance covers them.
Adam Edinburgh, head of travel and new products at Post Office Insurance, said: "Flight cancellations can be stressful, especially when they happen at short notice.
"While some disruption is unavoidable, there are practical steps travellers can take to minimise the impact if plans change."
He added: "While airlines are responsible for assisting passengers during cancellations, staying informed and planning ahead can help reduce stress if travel plans change unexpectedly."
He also urged travellers to check their insurance before setting off to make sure they are covered for disruption.
easyJet has confirmed it will stop flying from Leeds Bradford Airport after January 5, 2027, with schedules continuing as normal until then.
The affected airport currently has direct easyJet services to Palma de Mallorca, Malaga, Paris, Barcelona and Belfast.
