Students at a North East secondary school are celebrating significant improvements across most subjects, with headteacher praising pupils’ hard work, determination and dedication after improvements were recorded across most subjects.
St Peter’s Catholic College in South Bank is celebrating success, with high achievers and standout performances across the board.
Stephanie Garthwaite, headteacher at St Peter’s, said: "I am incredibly proud of our pupils and the amazing results many of them have achieved this year.
"Their hard work, dedication and determination have truly paid off.
"We are delighted to report significant improvements across most subjects, reflecting the continuous effort of our staff and the commitment of our young people to aim high and reach their full potential."
She said the results reflect years of dedication, with pupils supported by parents, carers and a committed teaching team who work "tirelessly" to help every young person flourish.
Among the top performers was Neve Chesworth, who earned a grade 9 in English literature and grade 8s in English language, history and religious education.

Neve said: “I was completely shocked when I opened my results, but I’m incredibly proud to have done it for my mam and nana!
“Thanks to my Altrad scholarship, I’m excited to take my next step, studying A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.”
Mrs Garthwaite said: "We are exceptionally proud of Neve and her amazing results.
"She has shown an incredible work ethic and dedication, and these top grades are a true testament to what can be achieved through perseverance.
"She has a very bright future ahead."
Shaniya Uddin

Head girl Shaniya Uddin also celebrated high grades, including a grade 9 in English literature and grade 8s in English language, religious education and science.
Shaniya said: “Proving that hard work truly pays off, I am deeply grateful to my teachers for their unwavering support.
“Reaching my goal of a Grade 9 was a test of perseverance, but staying determined made all the difference. I now look forward to studying A-Levels in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry."
Mrs Garthwaite said: "Shaniya has been an outstanding head girl and a true role model for our school community.
"Her drive, high ambitions and willingness to put in the extra work at home have led to these excellent results.
"We could not be prouder of everything she has achieved during her time at St Peter’s."
Bailey Lillystone

Bailey Lillystone earned grade 8s in English language, English literature, religious education and history, as well as a grade 7 in mathematics.
Bailey said: "I am proud of my results today.
"They have provided a fantastic stepping-stone, and I am now looking forward to studying Electrical Engineering."
Mrs Garthwaite said: "Bailey combines a natural talent for academic subjects with an unwavering work ethic.
"His unwillingness to give up and continuous drive to improve his learning are traits that will serve him well for the rest of his life.
"We are immensely proud of his hard work and well-deserved success."
Wisdom Olu

Deputy head boy Wisdom Olu achieved a grade 9 in religious education, a grade 8 in English literature, and grade 7s in English language, geography, science and mathematics.
Wisdom said: “Achieving these results is a hugely proud moment for me.
"I owe a massive thank you to the staff, whose constant support and belief made this possible.
