A man has received a suspended prison sentence after admitting three counts of drug driving on the A1(M) in County Durham.
Marc Moody, 28, of Sulgrave Road, Sunderland, drove a Volvo V60 while over the legal limits for cocaine, THC, and benzoylecgonine, the main cocaine breakdown product, on February 15,at Chester-le-Street.
Blood tests showed levels of cocaine at not less than 18 micrograms per litre, THC at over 7 micrograms per litre, and benzoylecgonine above 800 micrograms per litre, each exceeding the legal threshold.

Moody appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on August 17, where he pleaded guilty to the offences and was handed an eight-week custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months.
The court said Moody had shown a “flagrant disregard for people and their property”.
He was also disqualified from driving for 30 months and ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs.
