A County Durham man has been fined for assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty.
Dylan Kell, 29, of Coronation Avenue, Durham, admitted assaulting an officer on June 17, in County Durham, and wilfully obstructing the officer during the same incident.
Both offences were heard at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on August 17.
Kell pleaded guilty to both charges and was fined £120 for the assault.

The court took his guilty plea into account when deciding the penalty.
He was also ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £48 victim services surcharge.
No separate penalty was given for obstructing the constable.
