A northern city has been named one of the best places to retire to in England.
World Atlas has put together a list of the best cities to retire to in England including places like Chester, Cheltenham, and Bath.
The beautiful city of Durham also made it onto the list thanks to its many sites to explore and "less urbanised feel."
Durham’s placement makes it easy to reach a range of towns and cities including Newcastle.
What is Durham like?
On the city, World Atlas said: "Durham is built on a tight loop of the River Wear, and the water influences daily life here more than in most English cities.
"Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle, together a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, sit on a rocky peninsula that residents circle on riverside paths.
"The city hosts Durham Regatta on the second weekend of June, the second-oldest rowing regatta in England after Chester's and five years older than the Henley Royal Regatta.
"Rowing boat rentals along the Wear are a low-key way to spend an afternoon that doesn't require racing chops.
"Durham is the most affordable city on this list, and it has the smallest population, at just over 50,000.
"The result is a less urbanised feel, with Newcastle just under 20 minutes away by train for bigger-city errands."
If you are looking to move to Durham, the average house price in the area is £207,465, according to Rightmove.
Semi-detached properties cost an average of £186,178 while detached properties are selling for around £331,663.
Durham is a great place for walks with the River Wear being the perfect area for a relaxing stroll or you might prefer the Botanic Gardens if you are a fan of plants and flowers.
It is also easy to reach many historic spots to spend a day exploring such as the Beamish Museum for a fully immersive experience and the Crook Hall and Gardens.

The city has a huge range of food spots to enjoy from dim sum from the Dim Sum Parlour to homemade scones from Tealicious.
If you want something a bit more filling, you could grab a burger from Fat Hippo or a Turkish feast from Akarsu.
