A group of fundraising cyclists have raised £3,000 for Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat station after completing a challenging coast-to-coast ride.
Known as the Steelies, the group rode 156 miles in just three days, starting at Silloth RNLI lifeboat station and finishing in Hartlepool with overnight stops in Haltwhistle and Tynemouth.
Dwayne Douglas, one of the cyclists and organisers, said: "It was a lot of hard work with a lot of steep hills along the route, but we kept going and it was great to finish the ride with a fantastic reception back at the Steelworks Club after a quick stop at Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat station where we met some of the volunteer crew and had a look at their boats.

"We chose the local RNLI charity for the good job they do, which is even more relevant with recent events, and with amazing support from our sponsors and supporters, we were also able to make donations to local representatives of the Motor Neurone Disease Society and Community Link."
