Nidderdale High School headteacher says 'we are proud of everything our school community has done'

Nidderdale High School is celebrating the success of its Year 11 students as they collect their GCSE exam results in a range of subjects.

Amongst the many students celebrating excellent results are: Dulcie Jones achieving all 11 grades at 7-9. Isobel Cook and Ben Rushworth both achieved 11 GCSEs including 10 at grades 7-9. Emmeline Lowes, Samuel Waters, Jessie Wilson and Joshua Hunt also achieved highly with most of their grades in the 7-9 range.

Across the full range of subjects, a quarter of all students achieved at least one top grade 7-9, with many students achieving multiple top grades.

All students are now planning their next steps which include A Levels at Harrogate and Ripon sixth forms, college places in Harrogate, York and Askham Bryan and high-quality apprenticeships with employers.

Nidderdale High School Headteacher Kath Jordan said, 'We are so proud of all our students who have worked with determination, resilience, and commitment.

"A significant number of our young people have experienced challenging personal circumstances and have overcome these to secure their next steps with exceptional levels of support from staff and families.

"As noted in our recent Ofsted report, Nidderdale High Schools makes everyone feel welcome.

"This year we have seen students achieving success after joining our school community relatively late, with 10% of the students sitting exams joining us after the start of Year 9.

"We are proud of everything our school community has done to ensure success for our students, helping them to take their next steps towards their future studies and careers.

"Above and beyond their academic achievements, many of our Year 11s have been role models for our Team Nidd Values, demonstrating ambition, respect, kindness and empathy both in the classroom and their wider contributions to school life and leadership.

"We wish them all the very best for their future and look forward to hearing about their continued success.”

Nidderdale High School believes the results reflect not only academic success but also the strength of the school's inclusive culture, where students are supported to achieve their full potential regardless of background or starting point.
