Sheffield Trees: some good people need a little help - together, we can do this...

Friends of this newspaper in Sheffield who trusted The Yorkshire Post to partner with them in a ferocious campaign to protect the street trees in the Steel City from a city council that was hell-bent on destroying them, will recall the battle all too well.
It should be said that under the more honest and authentic stewardship of now-Chief Executive Kate Josephs, Sheffield City Council is a more listening local authority, better in tune with its residents.
And some of those residents, community groups and campaigners, are embarking upon a mission to bring more street trees to the city, between Burngreave and Bents Green. In relative terms, it is a modest ambition to plant 14 trees, seven in each suburb, yet this newspaper knows what it means to those committed to the job at hand.
A crowdfunding campaign has been set up, with £9,100 the target. Could it be that we all help them get there before the weekend arrives?
