'You don't mess about, do you?' Watch moment biker, 20, is arrested after 2am Middlesbrough police chase
A 20-year-old who drove into oncoming traffic in an off-road police chase around Middlesbrough on a stolen off-road bike has been spared jail.
Taylor Turnbull, from Whitby, led police on a 2am pursuit on a dual carriageway and into oncoming vehicles before he was caught in Ormesby and arrested.
Cleveland Police dashcam and helicopter footage shows Turnbull and another man on the bike, being chased through residential streets and across a park before they come to a stop and are arrested on the ground.
During his arrest, Turnbull is seen saying to officers, “Are you Matrix? You don’t mess about, do you?”.

Turnbull was charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance.
At Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday August 18, he was handed a six-month sentence suspended for two years, a three-year driving ban and 120 hours of unpaid work.

Another man was later released without charge.
PC Ian Widdas, from Cleveland Police, said: “We will continue to relentlessly pursue those who cause harm to our communities; including those who use illegal off-road bikes, both in a dangerous manner and to carry out criminal activity.

“We would continue to encourage anyone who has information on those who are illegally using off-road bikes, or those who may be storing them, to contact Cleveland Police so that we can take action.”
