FIVE drivers have earned top honours for their commitment to safe and smooth journeys.
Keighley Bus Company staff have been recognised with the 'Grand Master' title under the GreenRoad safety and efficiency programme, which uses onboard technology to monitor driving performance and promote safer standards.
Kel Pizzuti, head of operations at Transdev, said: "We are incredibly proud of all the drivers who have been awarded ‘Fleet Elite’ status this year, especially those who continue to rank highly on GreenRoad year on year.
"Their success reflects both the standard of training that they receive here at Transdev, and their own determination to provide high-quality driving to customers.
"The incentive created from these awards leads to a better service for everyone, and we are always looking for new talent to join our teams – so if you have similar ambition, you should look into our many open positions for Trainee and Qualified drivers."
GreenRoad technology is fitted to every Keighley Bus Company vehicle and tracks factors such as acceleration, braking, fuel efficiency, and idling time.
This data is used to improve performance and ensure journeys are as safe and comfortable as possible.
A total of 134 Transdev drivers across northern England achieved 'Fleet Elite' status this year.
This requires drivers to have had five or fewer driving events—such as harsh braking or acceleration—for every 10 hours on the road, over a minimum of 500 driving hours.
Of those, 24 were based in Keighley, with five reaching the 'Grand Master' level.
This highest rank is awarded to drivers who have maintained 'Fleet Elite' status for five consecutive years.
Mr Pizzuti said the drivers’ achievement not only highlights their professionalism but also the high standards upheld by the company’s training programmes.
The scheme is designed to encourage positive driving habits, with smoother driving leading to lower fuel consumption.
Transdev has used the GreenRoad system for more than a decade.
In total, 21 Transdev drivers in Yorkshire and Lancashire achieved 'Grand Master' status this year.
The company continues to invest in driver development and technology, aiming to set industry benchmarks for safety and service quality.
