Bradford (Park Avenue) owner Gareth Roberts is fully committed to the club after putting it up for sale last month, admitting "the process will take some time".

His 12 years at the helm are due to come to an end once a suitable new owner is found, though he is willing to remain involved in some capacity should that be best for the club.

Roberts, who was born in Bradford but is based in Texas, plans to come over to his home town soon too, where he will look to take in some action at Horsfall, something that is lacking this month.

Giving an update on the club this week, Roberts said: "We have some interested new investors, sponsors, and potential new owners.

"Things are looking very positive, but this process will take some time.

"We want to make sure we find the right people to help take the club forward and build for the future.

"I will be making a trip over to Bradford soon and look forward to seeing the recent improvements around the ground, having some key meetings and, of course, spending some time at the Horsfall Community Stadium."

But he added: "It is not ideal to have just one home game in August.

"Having so many away fixtures come at a cost and impacts our cash flow.

"Like all clubs at our level, we rely on income from gate receipts, merchandise, and food and beverage sales to help cover wages, as well as the many other costs involved in running the club."

Just under 900 fans came to Avenue's home game with Redcar Athletic in March, which was a real boost to the club's finances.

Avenue’s current operation has been helped by the appointment of Lewis Sale as their media operations manager and acting club secretary with immediate effect.

Bringing 15 years of experience in the media and communications, he has worked for nationwide organisations within industries such as financial, logistics, and food, as well as the public sector.

He will oversee the media output, working with key partners, staff, and volunteers.

Sale’s roles will include redeveloping the Avenue website, increasing the club’s social media presence, editing the matchday programme, and finding new ways to improve its coverage of the Northern Premier League East Division outfit.

Importantly, he will also support the first-team setup as their secretary, throughout the week and on matchdays.

Speaking about his appointment, Sale said: "I’m proud to join Bradford (Park Avenue).

"It’s an honour to represent this historic club and this place is close to my heart, having volunteered since 2011.

"It has character and a growing community spirit, so being trusted to tell its story excites me."
