A teenager who raped two girls and cruelly put them through the court process twice as he remained in denial, has finally been jailed.
Sam Brewster, now 18, from the Redcar and Cleveland area, was convicted of multiple offences following an investigation by police, after the crimes were first reported in April 2024.
He was found guilty during a trial in August 2025, but later appealed the convictions.
The appeal was heard at Teesside Crown Court in March 2026.
During the appeal, the victims were required to give evidence for a second time.
The court upheld two of the rape convictions.
On Wednesday (August 19) Brewster was sentenced to three years in prison.
Detective Constable Jack McPhillips praised the victims’ courage.
DC McPhillips said: "Both of the victims in this case were extremely brave in coming forward and giving evidence.
"They had the trauma of having to go through this difficult process twice over in court, in addition to multiple last-minute adjournments and having to relive their nightmare again and again.
