A new Pepe’s Piri Piri restaurant has opened in Darlington, creating 15 jobs.
The chicken chain opened its at Cornmill Shopping Centre on this morning (Wednesday, August 19) offering takeaway, collection, and dine-in food.
Customers can choose from the brand’s flame-grilled chicken range, including whole, half, and quarter chickens, wings, and tender strips.
The menu also includes burgers, salads, Mexican-inspired burritos and nachos, as well as the Chick’n’Rice box which has proved popular on TikTok and Instagram.
The Darlington branch is owned by Ammar, an experienced hospitality operator who has multiple sites across the UK.

Matt Hart, Pepe’s Piri Piri’s head of franchising, said the opening takes the chain to more than 265 restaurants across the country.
He said: "It’s hard to believe that it was just back in 2007 that we opened the first Pepe’s Piri Piri in Watford, and the store in Darlington takes us to more than 265 stores across the UK.

To mark the opening, the restaurant is offering 20 per cent off all in-store and collection orders on today (Wednesday, August 19).
The new branch is located at Cornmill Shopping Centre, Darlington, DL1 1LS.
