A large stretch of a major North Yorkshire A-road has been closed for nearly 12 hours after a crash.
The A172 northbound is closed from the A19 at Cleveland Tontine to the Thirsk turn-off.
The southbound exit slip from the A19 is also closed.
AA Traffic Maps is reporting that this is "due to crash investigation work".
Drivers are advised to avoid the area while investigation work takes place.
