Travel disruptions
The A1(M) southbound between junctions J58 and J57 near Low Coniscliffe has heavy congestion.
National Highways are reporting there are currently delays of 39 minutes against expected traffic.
Train disruptions
There are currently no rail disruptions at this time.
What will the weather be like in the North East today?
Today is set to turn fresher with heavy thundery showers.
Today:
It will be a mostly cloudy day with scattered showers. Showers may turn heavy at times with a risk of hail and thunder. Light winds will freshen a little during the showers. Temperatures slightly below the seasonal average. Maximum temperature 20 °C.
Tonight:
It will remain rather cloudy through the evening and overnight with further showers, some perhaps turning heavy and thundery, giving some surface water issues. A cool night to come. Minimum temperature 9 °C.
Are there any roadworks in Darlington?

This includes temporary traffic signals due to electricity work on Larchfield Street both ways at Napier Street.
