A man has been given a conditional discharge after admitting assaults on three NHS workers in Darlington.
Alexander Jefferson, 26, of Roseberry Park Hospital, Middlesbrough, appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on August 14.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of "assault by beating" on emergency workers in Darlington on September 22, 2025.
The court heard Jefferson assaulted the NHS workers in the course of their duties.
The conditional discharge will last for 18 months, an uplift from 12 months due to the offences being against emergency workers.

Compensation was ordered, with Jefferson told to pay £150 each to two of the workers and £100 to the third.
There was no court surcharge or prosecution costs, as the court found Jefferson had insufficient means to pay both compensation and surcharge.
Jefferson must pay all compensation by September 11.
