The closure of Footpath No 2 in Eston and Footpath No 1 in Redcar, between the rail bridge to Old Station Road, is made by Redcar and Cleveland Council. due to a large hole in the path caused by a burst pipe.
The order, which will come into effect on August 24, is "necessary to prevent danger to the public".
The closure will affect pedestrians using the path starting at the rail bridge, reference GR NZ 5228 2089, to the junction with Old Station Road at GR NZ 5267 2106.

An alternative route has been suggested by the council. Pedestrians can proceed over the rail bridge, join the footway along Dockside Road, and then at the roundabout, turn south onto Old Station Road to rejoin the footpath.
The order will remain in operation until the necessary repair works are complete or for a maximum period of six months, whichever is earlier.
