An alternative route has been suggested by the council. Pedestrians can proceed over the rail bridge, join the footway along Dockside Road, and then at the roundabout, turn south onto Old Station Road to rejoin the footpath.

The order will remain in operation until the necessary repair works are complete or for a maximum period of six months, whichever is earlier.
