Search the Public Notice Portal NEW details have emerged about the future of a store in York following the approval of changes to the building.
Fashion store Size? is set to close in mid-September, the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) understands.
Owners JD Group declined to comment further but they did not deny the closure was going ahead or timescales put to them by LDRS.
The store’s closure is understood to be going ahead during the week beginning Monday, September 14 and staff have been informed.
Size? or owners JD Group are yet to publicly announce the store is closing and no notices were posted there as of Wednesday, August 19.

It follows City of York Council’s approval of plans to convert Size? into a Joe & The Juice drinks and sandwich outlet.
Clothing brand Size? launched in 2000 and grew from stores in Manchester, London and Brighton to more than 30 locations across the UK, Europe and North America.
It was set up by JD Group to test product collections in-house before rolling them out across its other brands.
The St Sampson’s Square store opened after plans for it to take over the building were approved in 2018.
There is no reference to changes to Size? in JD Group’s reports on its performance in 2025/6 and its latest business plans.
Its results for 2025/6 lists Size? as one of its brands but does not elaborate further.

The store’s conversion is set to see the building transformed into a Joe & The Juice with seating for 65 people, 29 on the ground floor and 36 on the first.
Drinks including juices, shakes and coffees are set to be served along with sandwiches, according to a council report on the plans.
Applicants stated the conversion would result in a cleaner, more refined interior while preserving the building’s historic character.
Plans stated: “By virtue of the proposed development, the external enhancements will facilitate the upgrade of the site for the operation of Joe & The Juice.
“Allowing Joe & The Juice to operate in the space will bring increased employment and opportunities for local people and continued social and economic regeneration of the city.”
Council planning officers stated the proposed development fell within the same use class as Size?, meaning the conversion only required a certificate a lawfulness rather than full planning permission.
Joe & The Juice was founded in Copenhagen in 2002 and now has more 500 stores across Europe, the United States, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
It is known for its freshly-prepared juices, shakes, coffee and sandwiches, according to its website.
The company has a number of outlets in London and South East England, along with ones in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Liverpool, Manchester and Oxford.
The Danish company has not responded to LDRS requests to comment on the plans.
