THREE people have been arrested after police launched a crackdown on crime along the Yorkshire coast.
Operation Coastline was initiated by Bridlington Neighbourhood Police officers and resulted in three arrests on Monday (August 17).
The first arrest came after officers spotted a man wanted in connection with a shop theft in Scarborough Road on August 10.
Another wanted man was found after he failed to appear at Hull Magistrates Court.
A third was detained in connection with reports of a public order in Wellington Road on August 17 and criminal damage in Holyrood Avenue on August 16.
A force spokesperson said: “All three men remain in police custody assisting with the team’s ongoing enquiries at this time.
“Operation Coastline focuses on keeping our coastal towns and resorts welcoming, reducing crime and anti-social behaviour, and providing visible reassurance to local communities during our busier months.
“Coastal areas naturally seen increase in visitors at this time of the year which can sometimes lead to an increase in issues such as antisocial behaviour and opportunistic crimes.
