York has been named Britain's best destination for a dog-friendly day out.
New research by Tails.com gave the city the top spot with a dog-friendly score of 64.38 out of 100.
The study analysed 10 dog-friendly factors, including walking routes, restaurants, cafés, attractions, green spaces, veterinary practices, pet shops, and nearby National Trust sites.
York boasts 98 dog-friendly restaurants, 57 walking routes, 43 dog-friendly cafés, 11 dog-friendly attractions, and eight dog-friendly shopping centres, making it an ideal place for owners to spend time with their furry companions.
The abundance of choices ensures that owners can easily find places to eat, explore, and shop without having to leave their pups behind.
The city's range of dog-friendly amenities and activities helped it secure the top spot in the UK, with a score of 64.38 out of 100.
York's win was attributed to the city's combination of dog-friendly activities and amenities, making it the perfect place for a day out with a dog.
The city also houses 19 veterinary practices and 11 pet shops, providing dog owners with easy access to essential services.
Other cities and towns in the top 10 included Bath, Chester, and Southport.
