A MAN connected to a number of burglaries and thefts has been caught after attempting to break-in to a motorbike dealership.
North Yorkshire Police says a 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with four counts of burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle following a series of incidents in York.

He appeared before York Magistrates' Court yesterday (August 17) for his initial hearing before being remanded into custody until his next appearance at York Crown Court on Monday 14 September.
It follows reports of an ongoing burglary in Auster Road, Clifton Moor, at 2.24pm on Sunday (August 16) where someone forced their way into a motorbike dealership, caused damage, and stole a BMW bike.
“Following initial enquiries by officers, the motorcycle was found to have been abandoned in a ditch. The suspect was subsequently located and arrested having matched the description provided by witnesses and was taken into custody,” said a spokesperson for the force.
After investigating, police found that he was believed to be responsible for a number of other offences in York - including a burglary in January where an exhaust system was stolen.
