A new head of employment law has been appointed following the retirement of the department’s previous lead.

Lanre Fakunle has joined McCormicks Solicitors in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, bringing with him extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

He has particular expertise in advising businesses on HR, legal, and company infrastructure matters, including TUPE transfers, restructuring, and redundancies.

Mr Fakunle also has experience attending Employment Tribunal hearings all over the United Kingdom.

Stephen Hopwood, managing partner at McCormicks, said: "Lanre has a great skill set and lots to offer, and we are delighted to welcome him to the team at McCormicks."

In a statement, the firm said Mr Fakunle will provide "practical and commercial advice" to both employers and employees on issues including employee incentives, transfers and secondments, disciplinary hearings, sickness, absence and maternity leave frameworks, dismissals, discrimination claims, whistleblowing, and protected disclosure matters.
