A PLOT of Council owned land that brings in £9,000 a year in advertising revenue will go to auction later this month.

The land at the side of Otley Road, Shipley will have a guide price of £90,000 when it goes under the hammer at an online auction on August 24.

The site - home to numerous advertising boards - is the latest Council owned asset to be listed for sale as the authority looks to become more financially sustainable.

The listing, by BTG Eddisons, describes the site as “an income-producing advertising hoarding site located in Shipley town centre.”

It adds: “The freehold site generates £9,000 per annum via a licence which is currently holding over.

“The plot extends to approximately 0.17 hectares (0.43 acres) and fronts Otley Road (A6038) which runs through Shipley town centre and joins the A650.

“Nearby commercial premises include Lidl, Home Bargains, Wickes, and B&M.”
