Councillors have offered their condolences after a man and woman died in the Bradford district, while reassuring residents the incident appears isolated.
A 52-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man, who police say were known to each other, were found dead at separate locations on August 11.
West Yorkshire Police are treating both deaths as unexplained but say they are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with them.
Councillor Debbie Davies (Conservative, Baildon) said the situation sounded "very tragic" and reassured residents that the incident appeared isolated.
She said: "(It) sounds horrendous, and very tragic, and it sounded like there was no one else involved.

Deaths are 'very sad tragedy'
West Yorkshire Police said officers were first called at 6.55pm on August 11 to an address on New Stead Rise, between Riddlesden and East Morton, in Keighley, after reports that a 52-year-old woman had been found dead.
A second call came at 7.14pm after a 59-year-old man was found dead at business premises on Tong Park Industrial Estate, Baildon.
Police have said both deaths are currently being treated as unexplained.
Councillor David Michael Ford (Conservative, Baildon) described the deaths as a "very sad tragedy."

He said: "We don’t yet know the details.
"We’re very sad to see what’s happened to both these people and we hope the police are able to come to a resolution as to what happened.
"We very much feel for relatives and friends of the victims."
Keighley East Labour councillor Caroline Firth said the deaths had shocked the community.
She said: “This is shocking news, everyone is very upset. My sincere condolences to the family.”
"Anyone with any information should contact the police and let them complete their investigations."

West Yorkshire Police have yet to provide an update on the investigation.
On August 13, Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "Sadly, we are investigating after the deaths of two people at two locations in Bradford.
