Spennymoor woman fined after admitting assault on another woman

A County Durham woman has been fined after admitting assaulting another woman.

Laura Waring, 36, of Oxclose Crescent, Spennymoor, pleaded guilty to “assault by beating” during an incident in Spennymoor on November 2, 2025.

Waring appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on July 15.

The court fined her £416. This was chosen as an alternative to a community penalty, with the court saying her guilty plea was taken into account.

Waring was also ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £166 victim services surcharge.

A collection order was made, requiring Waring to pay in monthly instalments of £50, starting from September 10.
