A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Sadly, we can confirm that our officers have today found the body of a man whilst searching for missing Terrence Shippey, 74, from Redcar.
"Whilst no formal identification has yet taken place, Terrence’s family have been informed and our thoughts remain with them at this extremely difficult time.
"The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
