Fire crews were called to a blaze in a wooded area near a golf club in Darlington.
Firefighters from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident at Darlington Golf Club at 7.16pm on Sunday, August 17.
One fire engine from Darlington Fire Station was sent to the golf club, where firefighters found “a small amount of loose refuse” on fire in the wooded area.
The crew used a fire beater to put out the blaze and left the scene at 7.38pm.
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.16pm yesterday, August 17, to a fire at Darlington Golf Club.
“One fire engine from Darlington Fire Station attended and on arrival the crew found a small amount of loose refuse on fire in a wooded area near to the rear of the golf course.
“Firefighters used a fire beater to extinguish the fire before leaving the scene at 7.38pm.”
The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
