A football club has slammed "reckless behaviour" after a fire broke out near its stadium.
Ashington AFC described the incident, which happened on Wednesday, August 12, as an "absolute disgrace."
Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at 6.39pm and extinguished a grass fire covering around 40 square metres.

A spokesman said: "One fire appliance attended the incident and crews worked to extinguish a grass fire covering an area of around 40 square metres.
"The fire was brought under control, and firefighters left the scene at 7.31pm."
The club warned that the blaze could have caused "thousands of pounds worth of damage" had it reached their floodlights and stands.
Ashington AFC said: "We’ve been lucky on this occasion, but the consequences could have been far more serious and caused thousands of pounds worth of damage."
The fire started directly behind the club’s ground on Woodhorn Lane.

The club thanked the fire brigade for their swift response, saying the incident could have ended very differently.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Northumbria Police.
