Diving teams have joined the search for a missing soldier as police continue to probe a disturbance and crash on the night of his disappearance.
The 22-year-old was last seen heading towards Wylam from Wylam Bridge, in Northumberland - with Northumbria Police saying yesterday it is believed he has entered the River Tyne.
The Northern Echo understands that Liam, from Prudhoe, is a serving soldier with the Coldstream Guards and completed his training at Catterick Garrison.

Officers believe Liam - who went to Harrogate Army College straight out of school before completing 14 weeks basic training at Catterick - was on Wylam Bridge at the time of a crash.
The force said, before he vanished, officers were called to a disturbance at a nearby premises and a subsequent crash on Wylam Bridge involving a vehicle and a group of pedestrians.
A man and woman, each aged in their 20s, both sustained serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
Two people in the vehicle fled the scene on foot prior to police arriving, but two men aged 22 and 23 were arrested in connection and have since been bailed.
While police confirmed that Liam was on the bridge at the time of the crash, he was not an occupant of the vehicle and there are no reports suggesting that he was injured in the crash.
He subsequently left the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate him.
Liam’s next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by officers.
Desperate searches are continuing in Wylam today, where police divers have entered the river in the search.
Liam is described as a white man, 6ft 3ins tall, of medium build with dark hair.
He has tattoos down his right arm.

He was last seen wearing black joggers, black Nike trainers, a black T-shirt with large text and a diamond logo on the back, and a gold chain.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Robson said yesterday: “Our searches for Liam continue but due to a range of factors, we are unable to provide a timescale for how long we will be searching in the area.
“We will continue to support his family, and we would ask the public to avoid speculation both online and in the community.
