A collection of historic needlework linked to a Yorkshire Dales family proved a major attraction at an auction, with a group of antique samplers selling for £1,000.
The Broderick family from Swaledale, who worked the samplers, owned the properties Spring End and Summer Lodge and were prominent in the region from the 14th to the 20th century through farming and mining.
Their family papers are now held by Richmondshire Museum.
