County Durham motorist given six points over driver information offence

A County Durham driver has been fined and given penalty points after failing to identify the driver of a vehicle following a police request.

Jason Humble, 25, of Graham Street, Stanhope, did not provide information after being asked by Durham Constabulary about the person driving a Vauxhall, registration linked to an alleged offence.

Humble appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on August 13.

He changed his plea to guilty, which was taken into account by the court, reducing the fine by 20 percent as the plea was made before a trial.

The court fined Humble £449. He was also ordered to pay costs of £325 to the Crown Prosecution Service and a victim surcharge of £179.60.

His driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.
