A County Durham filmmaker has received international recognition after two of his short films were selected for inclusion on an American streaming platform dedicated exclusively to independent horror.
Dean Midas will see his low-budget horror shorts Christmas Eve and The Review featured on HorrorHound TV, a streaming platform dedicated exclusively to independent horror.
HorrorHound TV said: "We're excited to share your films with horror fans around the world and look forward to welcoming them to the HorrorHound TV library as part of our September 2, 2026 new release lineup."

Mr Midas said: "We are absolutely thrilled to bring this chapter of the Midasverse to horror fans globally.

The news comes as Christmas Eve reaches 110,000 views across all platforms, an "impressive milestone" for a film made on a £50 budget.

HorrorHound TV is part of the wider HorrorHound brand, which has been active in genre entertainment since 2005 through publishing, music, live events, and streaming.
The platform aims to keep the spirit of independent horror alive by giving UK and international fans access to new and innovative genre films.
Mr Midas is working on a new horror project, The Stitcher, due for release on October 2.
