A popular Harrogate-based gin brand has said it is "incredibly grateful” for the support of the community during a time of change as it brings back a popular classic by customer demand.

Chris Williams, Director of Slingsby Gin, made his comment as Slingsby Gooseberry Gin makes a return to the collection having previously left the range.

"We're incredibly grateful for the continued support of the Slingsby community and we're pleased to welcome Gooseberry back alongside Blackberry and Marmalade.

"One of the questions we've been asked most has been, '"when is Gooseberry Gin coming back?”

"Seeing how much people have missed it made bringing it back an easy decision.

"It's wonderful to have these classics back in the Slingsby collection for long-time fans and those discovering them for the first time."

First launched in September 2015, Slingsby Gin is made with the finest natural and locally-sourced botanicals, Harrogate aquifer water and pure single grain spirit.

The last ten years have seen it win more than 100 industry awards, reflecting its commitment to exceptional quality and flavour.

But the much-loved Harrogate brand has been through a period of transition this year.

The company behind the brand, Spirit of Harrogate, entered administration in early 2026 due to overhead costs, before being acquired in March by Harrogate couple Chris and Asma Williams of Brightside Spirit.

The move saved a number of jobs and ensured the continuation of the award-winning Slingsby Gin product range, which uses local Harrogate spring water and botanicals.

Although the physical retail shop on Montpellier Hill in Harrogate remains closed, Slingsby Gin production and web sales continue.

Last month saw the brand appointed official gin partner to Harrogate International Festivals.

Made with real Yorkshire gooseberries, Slingsby Gooseberry Gin combines bright citrus notes with the distinctive tang of fresh Yorkshire gooseberries and a smooth, fruity finish.

Following months of requests from the Slingsby community, it returns alongside Slingsby’s Blackberry Gin and Marmalade Gin, which are once again available to order through the brand's online shop after an extended period out of stock.
