Desperate search continues for Harrogate dog Ozzy missing for almost two weeks
The desperate search for missing Harrogate dog Ozzy is continuing, with his family urging people across the area to keep looking out for him.
The nine-year-old Miniature Schnauzer disappeared from his family home in the Hookstone area of Harrogate on Wednesday, August 5.
Mireille Hanshaw, who is helping with the search, said in a Facebook post:
“Please help him find his way home.”
Ozzy has now been missing for 13 days, with his family facing almost two weeks without knowing where he is.
He was confirmed to have been seen on Thursday, August 6 - the day after he disappeared - on the railway tracks near Hornbeam Park station and the Crimple Valley viaduct.
The area was searched thoroughly, but there was no sign of him.
Since then, a number of potential sightings have been reported, although sadly none have been confirmed.
The latest appeal says Ozzy may still be around the Crimple Valley and Yorkshire Showground area, and people are being asked to watch out for him while out walking or travelling on the trains.
Residents around Hookstone, Forest Lane and the showground are also being asked to check CCTV and Ring doorbell footage, particularly from late at night and during the early hours.
People are also being urged to consider whether Ozzy could be visiting gardens where food is left out for wildlife, or whether they have noticed a dog resembling him suddenly appearing in their neighbourhood.
Mireille said Ozzy's mum, Christine Anderson, is "going out of her mind with worry" after 13 days without him.
The family believes someone may have taken Ozzy in thinking he does not have a home, but says he is adored by his family and desperately missed.
Anyone who sees Ozzy is asked not to chase or call him, as this could frighten him further.
