EMERGENCY services were called to a North Yorkshire village today to rescue a person trapped inside a concrete tank.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service say three of its crews – Thirsk, Ripon, and Acomb – were called to Husthwaite at 12.57pm today (August 17) to help a person who had become trapped inside a concrete tank.

The exact nature of the tank is not known, but they are commonly used to store water, stormwater, sewage, or agricultural slurry
“ The person had self extricated on the crews arrival and they administered immediate medical care until the arrival of paramedics,” said a spokesperson for the service.
