A WOMAN has been arrested following a police incident in York city centre.
Police were called to Fossgate in York city centre today after one woman was seemingly arrested by officers outside the Age UK shop.
One eyewitness reported seeing people crowding around the back of the van, with one woman sitting inside the vehicle speaking to police.

They added: “When I arrived, there was already one person in the back of the van and police were bringing out a handbag from inside the nearby charity shop.
“It was getting a lot of attention from people passing by and it struck me that it was a bit sad that something like that would happen inside a charity shop.”
North Yorkshire Police have been contacted for comment.
