A ROAD in a North Yorkshire town is to be closed during the day this week for repairs.

Wood Street in Norton is to close from 9.30am to 11pm from today (Monday) until Thursday.

Cllr Keane Duncan, Norton councillor for North Yorkshire Council said: “I am pleased to confirm Wood Street is finally due to be resurfaced, with works commencing from this Monday.

“This will be a full resurfacing, not patching of individual potholes, and will cover the area from the junction with Langton Road to the junction with Little Wood Street.

“The works are long overdue and will be a very welcome improvement. I am continuing to raise the condition of Norton and Malton’s roads with the highways team, and I’m pleased we are securing mimprovements as a result.

“I will keep you all updated as further repairs are secured in our area in coming weeks and months.”

"Please be aware there will be a full road closure in place during the works, which are due to commence at 9.30am on Monday, August 17 and finish at 11pm on Thursday, August 20."
