Two people have been left in hospital after a three-car crash closed part of the A1 in both directions.
Emergency services were called to the crash between the Felton and Swarland turn-offs in Northumberland around 2.10pm on Monday (August 17).
No one is believed to have been seriously injured.
The road was closed, and is yet to reopen.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "At about 2.10pm today we received a report of a three-vehicle collision on the A1 near Felton in Northumberland.
"Emergency services are in attendance and no-one is reported to have been seriously injured.
"A section of the road is currently closed to allow for the recovery of the vehicles."
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) confirmed that two people were taken to hospital following the crash.
A spokesperson added: "We received a call at 2.13pm on Monday, August 17, to reports of a road traffic incident on the A1 near Felton, Northumberland.
"We dispatched two ambulance crews, a clinical team leader, and two crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to the scene.
"Two patients were transported to NSECH (Cramlington Hospital) for further treatment."
