Harrogate shoppers can meet TV chef Ainsley Harriott today

TV chef Ainsley Harriott is due to visit a Harrogate supermarket this afternoon as part of a tour of Morrisons stores across the North.

The television personality will be at Morrisons Starbeck, on Hookstone Chase, from around 2pm to 4pm today (Monday, August 17).

His visit is part of the Ainsley Foods 'Where's Ainsley?' campaign, which is taking him to nine Morrisons stores across Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Customers will have the opportunity to meet the celebrity chef, with samples from his couscous range also available.

One customer at each store will receive a £100 Morrisons voucher, while goody bags will also be given away during the visits.

Mr Harriott said he was looking forward to meeting shoppers during the tour.

"There's nothing better than chatting about food, sharing a few recipe ideas and hopefully putting a smile on people's faces,” he said.

The tour is also being accompanied by a community donation programme.

Ainsley Foods Company said it will donate £3,000 worth of food in each of the three regions visited, supporting charities backed by Morrisons.

Mike Benton, managing director at Ainsley Foods Company, said the donations were intended to support food banks and community organisations in the areas being visited.
