Search the Public Notice Portal A series of road closures will take place in York and surrounding areas this month.
City of York Council has issued temporary traffic restrictions across 11 locations to allow for works including telecoms, water mains, gas mains, and road resurfacing.
The closures will affect various parts of the city and nearby villages, with some works lasting up to six weeks.
Pottery Lane, Strensall
Pottery Lane will be closed between August 17 and August 19, from 8am to 6pm each day.
The closure will be in place between a point 80 metres east of Park House Farm and a point 40 metres west of Hill Crest.
The works are for telecoms, and an alternative route will be signed via Carr Lane, Moxby Road and Sheriff Hutton Road.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Beckfield Lane, Acomb
Beckfield Lane will be closed for resurfacing works between August 17 and September 6, from 8am to 5pm each day.
The closure will be in place between the junctions with Wetherby Road and Lidgett Grove.
A signed diversion will be in place via Wetherby Road, The Green, York Road, Carr Lane and Boroughbridge Road.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Kent Street, York
Kent Street will be closed between August 17 and September 25 for telecoms works.
The closure will affect the stretch between Barbican Road and the Q-Park Barbican car park.
A signed diversion will be in place via Barbican Road, Cemetery Road, Fulford Road, Fishergate, Fawcett Street and Paragon Street.
A separate diversion will be provided for HGVs.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Gladstone Street, York
Gladstone Street will be closed on August 17 between 9.30am and 3.30pm for water mains works.
The closure will affect the stretch between Huntington Road and a point 13 metres east.
A signed diversion will be in place via Huntington Road, Dennison Street and Back Lane.
All on-street parking on the east side of Huntington Road between Dennison Street and property No. 72 will be suspended during the works.
Residents with permit reference R26 will be able to park in zone R25 without penalty.

Rawcliffe Drive will be closed between August 17 and August 18, from 8am to 5pm each day.
The closure will affect the stretch between Rawcliffe Lane and The Garlands.
A signed diversion will be in place via Rawcliffe Lane, Green Lane, Water Lane and Clifton.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Mill Lane, Heworth
Mill Lane will be closed between August 24 and August 28, from 8am to 5pm each day, for water mains works.
The closure will affect the stretch between Heworth Green and East Parade.
A signed diversion will be in place via Heworth Green, Heworth Road, East Parade, Eboracum Way, Layerthorpe and Hawthorn Grove.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Farmers Way, Copmanthorpe
Farmers Way will be closed between August 24 and August 26, from 9.30am to 3.30pm each day, for telecoms works.
The closure will affect the stretch between Wheelwright Close and Sawyers Crescent.
A signed diversion will be in place via Farmers Way and Flaxman Croft.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Markham Street, York
Markham Street will be closed between August 24 and August 30, from 8am to 5pm each day, for gas mains works.
The closure will affect the stretch between Eldon Street and property No. 37.
A signed diversion will be in place via Haxby Road, Lowther Street and Eldon Street.
The one-way system on Markham Street will be suspended to allow two-way traffic during the closure.
All on-street parking on both sides of Markham Street will be suspended during the works.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles can be arranged with traffic management operatives.
Moor Lane, Bishopthorpe
Moor Lane will be closed between August 24 and August 26, from 8.30am to 4pm each day, for telecoms works.
The closure will affect the stretch between Moor Lane Drive and property No. 4.
No diversion will be signed.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Ashville Street, York
Ashville Street will be closed between August 26 and August 28, from 9.30am to 4pm each day, for water mains works.
The closure will affect the stretch between Huntington Road and property No. 40.
No diversion will be signed.
Access for residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Landing Lane, York
Landing Lane will be closed between August 24 and October 5, from 8am to 5pm each day, for water mains works.
The closure will affect the stretch between Water End and the entrance to the RSPCA.
No diversion will be signed.
Access to the RSPCA and Yorkshire Water substation will be maintained and will be signed via the alternative south-west junction of Landing Lane from Water End.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
