A hike that goes through the Yorkshire Dales has been named as one of the easiest bucket list walks in the UK.

New data from PureGym has revealed the 10 hardest and easiest bucket list walks to complete around the UK.

There are many routes that take you up to the famous Nine Standards Rigg, with one making it onto the list of the most manageable hikes to do.

While the Nine Standards Rigg is not in the Yorkshire Dales, it is right on its border, with many trails and paths leading to and from the area.

What is the Nine Standards Rigg walk like?

On the walk, PureGym said: "Two more English hikes complete the top three, the Nine Standards Rigg, famous for its nine towering, dry-stone cairns which sit directly on a historic border separating Westmorland and Yorkshire, and which scores 21.6 out of 100; and the Jurassic Coast and Kimmeridge Circular, a fossil-lover’s paradise in Dorset which requires moderate levels of fitness thanks to some steep hills (24.4/100)."

During the walk, you will be able to enjoy views of the Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines.

You will be able to see for miles if you are lucky with the weather and get a clear day.

When you reach the Nine Standards Rigg at the summit of Hartley Fell, you will be able to get some great photo opportunities to remember your day by.

Although the walk is easy to complete, a lot of people have said it can get quite boggy, so you should take appropriate footwear.

Phil Carpenter, Personal Trainer and Assistant Gym Manager at PureGym Portsmouth North Harbour, said: "Exploring the great outdoors is one of the best, free ways to get more movement into our daily lives, and the rise in interest in hiking is certainly one to be celebrated.

"It’s incredibly important, however, to be mindful of our own abilities and to plan carefully when heading off on a hike.

"Adequate preparation—in the form of physical training, research of conditions on the day, appropriate gear, and a reliable route finder—is essential.

"Never overestimate your abilities and always be prepared to turn back if something doesn’t feel right."
