'Disposable barbecues ban should be annual'
IT’S about time these ultra dangerous disposable barbecues were banned in weather like this, so I'm happy the Government has taken the decision to ban their sale during this hot weather.
But they should do this annually.
Common sense needs to prevail so please try using it. It’s free.

---Why not use our oil and gas to fund the NHS? The NHS has been terribly under-funded for many years with successive governments unable to satisfy this hungry beast.
Mr Burnham, the new Prime Minister, is hell bent on reversing the decline, and hopefully he will succeed.
But how to feed this bottomless pit?
One solution could be, with oil and gas still reasonably plentiful in the North Sea, perhaps open this asset and ringfence all of the profits for the NHS.
This should placate the global warming fraternity to some extent and why shouldn't one of our natural assets be used for such a worthwhile institution?

Why we must act now on climate change
THIS year is already the hottest on record, but for those who enjoy the warmth there is a looming problem that could bring near-Arctic temperatures to the British Isles.
Researchers at Exeter University have recently completed simulations of how the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), which includes the Gulf Stream, might behave over coming decades.
The AMOC current acts as an ocean conveyor belt, transporting warm, salty water northward from the tropics across the Atlantic at the surface.
Around Iceland the water cools, becomes more dense and sinks to return southward at the bottom. Climate change from greenhouse gas emissions has resulted in more rapid melting of Greenland ice, making the sea there less dense and slowing the AMOC.
The researchers ran 21 computer simulations with varying rates of Greenland ice melt and greenhouse gas emissions. They found there is already a ten per cent chance of the AMOC failing. If we are unsuccessful in reaching net-zero this likelihood would more than double.
Reform UK, Restore and the Conservatives are all noisily opposed to the government's net-zero target.
However, it is no coincidence they are all heavily funded by the oil and gas corporations.
The message is crucial: if we don't want future generations to suffer a near-Arctic climate we must give our support to those political parties not on the take – those that want Britain at the forefront of green development and all the new industries and jobs it will create across the country.

MP "hypocritical" over migrants at Linton-on-Ouse
RACHAEL Maskell is a typical Labour hypocritical MP.
"No illegal immigrants anywhere near me" is her response to this government's idea of using RAF Linton -on-Ouse to house these migrants.
What happened to her "let them all in" strategy of only a few weeks ago?
Not on my patch: let someone else have the hassle, disruption, crime and aggravation.
