A man has been arrested after a person was “repeatedly punched to the head” in an “unprovoked" attack in Hartlepool.
The incident took place along the promenade on Sea View Terrace at around 12.20am last Sunday (August 9).
Cleveland Police said a 24-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and has been released on conditional bail.
PC Wooldridge, from Hartlepool’s response team, said: “This is believed to have been an unprovoked attack on a man who was simply walking along the promenade.
