Firefighters were called to a popular beauty spot after reports of people having a BBQ despite the recent Government alert.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service teams were sent to the Cod Beck Reservoir, near Osmotherley, just after 5.30pm on Saturday (August 15).
It followed reports of males having a BBQ, with firefighters using buckets of water to extinguish the flames before giving out advice.
The incident came less than a day after the Government sent out an emergency alert on Friday evening warning millions to not light anything that could spark a wildfire.
This included barbecues and garden incinerators.
The fire service said that the males claimed to have not received any Government alerts.
The alert read: “There is a very high risk of wildfires nationally.
“Residents, landowners and visitors should not undertake any activity that could start a fire, including disposable barbecues, firepits, garden incinerators or fireworks.
“Even a small flame can rapidly develop into a major wildfire placing lives, homes, businesses and emergency responders at risk.
“Follow official updates and report signs of fire immediately by calling 999.”

There has been a string of fires across the region in the last week amid the scorching heatwave, including battles to save homes from blazes in County Durham.
The County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said it had dealt with more than 1,000 calls across last week.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham recently told members of the public to take the warning “seriously”.
