Cycling enthusiasts of all ages will have the chance to get in the saddle and experience the excitement of the Tour of Britain when a free pump track comes to Helmsley next month.
The pop-up cycle circuit will be open in Helmsley on Saturday, September 5, from 9.30am to 3.30pm in the car park of the Black Swan in the Market Place, as part of the celebrations for the start of stage four of the 2026 Tour of Britain.
Councillor Carol Swift, chair of Helmsley Town Council, said: "We are delighted to host the start of Stage 4 of the 2026 Tour of Britain.

"To celebrate this wonderful occasion, the Town Council has organised a pump track for everyone to enjoy the day and soak up the atmosphere.
"All are welcome to join us for a fun time in Helmsley."
The track, arranged by Helmsley Town Council with funding from the North York Moors National Park Authority, is designed for cyclists of all ages and abilities.
The custom-made wooden circuit features rollers and corners, offering a fun way to improve cycling skills while getting some exercise.
Children are encouraged to bring their own bikes for the best experience, though free BMX bikes and helmets will be available on the day.
Riders may also bring their own helmets if they prefer.

Dom Barry, cycling development manager at the North York Moors National Park Authority, said: "Cycling is an important part of the North York Moors offer, helping people of all ages experience our spectacular landscapes, explore local communities and enjoy being active outdoors.
"With the Tour of Britain coming to Helmsley, the pump track is a fantastic opportunity for families to share in the excitement, and the National Park Authority is pleased to support it."
Helmsley is set to be at the centre of the action as it hosts the start of stage four of the 2026 Tour of Britain.
