A large Mastiff-type dog chased and then bit a runner on a riverside path near Selby.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the dog bite incident that occurred near Selby Swing Bridge between North Selby and Cliffe on Sunday, August 9, at about 8.45am.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the runner was passing a man and woman walking two dogs off the lead on the Ouse Bank path when a large Mastiff-type breed, similar in appearance to an XL Bully, ran towards the runner, subsequently biting them.
The dog is described as predominantly white with black patches and a pink nose.

"The bite caused a graze and damage to the runner's clothing," said the spokesperson.
The male owner of the dog is described as tall and muscular, bald, and was wearing a white vest top.
The female owner had brown hair and was wearing a blue top.
Police are seeking any witnesses or individuals who may recognise the dog or its owners.
They are also appealing for any photographs, video footage, dash cam, or other information that may assist in identifying those involved and progressing the investigation.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could help us identify those involved and progress the investigation."
