While many people think the best place to enjoy fish and chips is by the seaside, you can find amazing fish in even the most landlocked counties across the UK.
The author of Food of the Cods, Daniel Gray, has recently revealed his top 25 best fish and chip shops across the UK to the i Paper.
Luckily for those living in Yorkshire, the Wetherby Whaler, which has several locations including one in York Business Park, Nether Poppleton, was picked for the list.
If you fancy bringing a bit of the seaside to you, you might want to visit your local Wetherby Whaler.
What is the Wetherby Whaler like?
On the Wetherby Whaler, the publication said: "A chain of Whalers has sprung from Wetherby, with branches located across Yorkshire.
"All of them serve batter that soothes the soul and chips that throw the eater to some blissful childhood occasion.
"The Guiseley branch is victorious here due to its history – this was the site on which the legendary Harry Ramsden opened his first fish and chip hut.
"It is an area steeped in chippy history.
"In neighbouring Bradford during the 1860s, 17-year-old Clara Duce became one of the first people anywhere to sell fried fish with chips."
The first Wetherby Whaler was opened in 1989, but the family fish and chip business dates back to 1969 with founders Phillip and Janine Murphy’s shop in Tadcaster.
The fish and chip shop has a range of meals available from regular haddock to the Whaler giant haddock as well as seafood platters.
For those who do not want fish, you can get vegetarian options, chicken goujons, and salads.
If you fancy something sweet after your main, the shop offers both hot and cold desserts ranging from trifles and ice cream to hot chocolate fudge cake and sticky toffee pudding, making a trip to the Wetherby Whaler an indulgent one.

One reviewer on Tripadvisor said: "We have a number of fish restaurants to choose from but this is our first choice.
"Comfortable setting and attentive waiting staff.
"We always comment on the quality of the fish which is always well cooked with a tasty crispy batter."
Another reviewer said: "The specials are special I always come here.
"Well done and good job as the bigger haddock never fail to impress it takes the girls on the counter to use two serving tongs to lift the fish as they’re so big.
"Top quality I visit every Wednesday mid week treat."
